HYDROTHERAPY IN BRISTOL The Hydrotherapy Pool

What is Hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is a specialist physiotherapy treatment based in water, which is above the temperature of normal swimming pools. Hydrotherapy is used to treat a number of different conditions and injuries and can have fantastic outcomes.

Our hydrotherapy pool in Henbury, Bristol, is kept at 32 – 34 degrees, with ‘Endless Currents’, massage jets and an underwater treadmill.  We also have above and underwater high definition video cameras that can be used to look at gait / swimming analysis when required.  We have modern changing rooms and showers, and the pool is ‘easy access’, although we do not have a hoist.  Our physiotherapists will use a range of aids and adaptations to design a tailored treatment programme to suit your needs.

Hydrotherapy can be used to speed up the recovery of patients that are unable to weight-bear or can only partially weight-bear following surgery or injury, by increasing range of movement and maintaining muscle strength. Patient in the hydrotherapy pool

Hydrotherapy is an extremely beneficial physiotherapy treatment for a wide range of conditions and injuries.
